With the ORNAND announcement, I think we can safely put to rest the "AMD is going to sell Spansion" meme.

I don't know anybody on this board who said AMD was going to sell Spansion - or more accurately its part of Spansion. That aside, the pie in the sky ORNAND announcement is exactly the sort of thing one would expect of a company that was contemplating a 9-12 plan to divest or restructure a division. You sell the sizzle of the future, not the steak of the present.
