Thanks Robert, Bob, and Doug for your information. What type of test kit do these guys make? Is it a growth market? Do you need to keep rebuying test kits for the patients (like drugs?)? From the articles I read it looked like they were used for patients with AIDS and severe illnesses to check for various things that I did not quite understand. I'm sure the 10K will clear these questions up.
With regard to your screens, I do the same thing using Prodigy's Strategic Investor. Has been very very profitable for me - a low PE company that has a high growth rate in an attractive industry, with low debt is a very good long term bet in my book. All the institutional money flowing in and out of mid and large caps, and the overlooked opportunities in small caps, makes for a lot of opportunities for guys like us.
For the first time ever we have been able to use resources and data only the big guys have had access to - and can use them in a way the large money mangers cannot, in the small cap area. I truly believe that we are in a new era for small investors where we can beat the pros - and a new era where technology will fuel spectacular returns to those who will do the research on Zacks and on other data bases.
We will be able to play in the arena of the Peter Lynchs of the world, and even the Warren Buffetts, and will get returns they would be prowd of. Buffett says in his annual reports and in a lot of his appearances that he never will have the returns he had early on because he is stuck now in large caps due to the amount of money he manages - as are most managers.
In any event, from what I've seen from the financials I like BIOI a lot. My concern would be with respect to the industry, their products, the sustainability of growth, the feasibility of 35% growth (a very high number), new products, how fast existing products go off patent, competition, etc. Once I get my hands on the annual report, 10K, and analyst reports I'll have answers to most of this, or will get it from the company. Can't wait.
Thanks again everyone for the info.
Best - Joe
