No - I am a realist, with an idealistic streak. You came off sounding bad, but after explanation are much more reasonable :-)

Please understand that I don't think any of us like the concept welfare immigrants, even if they are political refugees. Also remember that few hispanics are welfare immigrants (even if in some communities most welfare immigrants are hispanic).

Millions of latins cross the border in search of work and most find it and contribute to American society. Some of these immigrants sponge off overly easy public assistance - but its orders of magnitude smaller than the working immigrant population.

Characterizing all illegals based on a few (albeit tens of thousands) bottom feeders ignores the the contribution and need for legal status of the millions.
