The idea that Novell will save money by building on their site near the airport stretches credulity. The airport property is currently the largest open field campus site in the "golden triangle," which defines the most valuable real estate in Silicon Valley. Novell's East San Jose site is in one of the cheapest sites in Silicon Valley. If they really cared about the shareholders, they would consolidate their now-reduced workforce into about four of the East San Jose buildings and sell the airport site to the highest bidder.
