Oh Rambi....That would have left a mark on me as well.. The poor rooster, and poor you!! The only time I saw something like that was when my Grandad chopped a chicken's head off with the axe that was just for that purpose....then he showed me what happened when he let the poor thing go...."running around like a chicken with it's head cut off" had a whole new meaning as of that minute to me. Not sure I would have ever been cut out for farm life....There was a rattlesnake skin by the underground cellar for the longest time....Man, I didn't even go anywhere near there....Not even once! I'm sure that was exactly why it was there. Yes, back in 1955 and earlier...being a "bad boy" meant all sorts of dire things...So did a "bad girl"....but since I was Miss Goodie TwoShoes, I didn't know what that meant for a bunch of years later... heh....
