Yep, the old headless chicken to scare the bejeezus out of some poor kid. I was probably 3 yrs old, and I'd gone next door with my mom to procure a chicken for the family dinner. The comedian who owned the chicken lopped its head off with a hatchet, and the bird raced around yard spouting blood like a geyser. This taught me that adults cannot be trusted with sharp objects around chickens, and that chickens don't have all that much need for their heads, except maybe to keep the blood from leaking out.
