Sarge - the way I see it is that I am the only balance around at time. It seems always fair game to point out the many faults of the US - and at the same time ignore those of the critics. There is a huge sense of moral superiority on the part of many Europeans and Canadians. Canada depreciated its currency to $.65 and survived quite well - how much pain did that cause others. How will a par value dollar impact you?

I think that the major point I am trying over and over to make is that those who gloat at the decline of the dollar are missing the threat of the 900 lb gorilla coming at them. We have suffered huge job losses and still have a lower unemployment rate. Drop the $ value and watch how the companies compete.

As for corporate welfare - you up north miss one very critical point. There are almost 300 million of us. We have a huge influx of illegals across the southern border - and through the port cities. This economy has to grow. It has to grow and employ people without competitive education levels. Ask yourself - why is that the leading technology companies in the world come from the US. Why is that? What would happen here if the environment ended such innovation?

How do you do that? High taxes? High regulation - nonsensical.

I simply ask you northerners to question the basis of many of your ideas. Is the data you get from your media accurate? Why won't you allow FOX on your TV - if that is true it is unbelievable to me. The poop I saw this summer was so distorted I wondered who they were writing about. The letters to the editors were right out of a Michael Moore movie.
