You just don't get it do you Bob? No one that I know of is against the US, with the possible exception of one. <g> Bob, we did not create the $.65 dollar, the US did with Bob Rubin's strong dollar policy, something he touted again today. Yes we survived, very well, and I am on record stating this, to you in fact.
We are well aware of the 900lb gorilla, Trudeau referred to it as sleeping next to an elephant, no problem until the elephant rolls over. Yes, a lower US $ will help your exports, but to what degree? You cannot stop exporting jobs to Asia.
Bob, I know about what I speak. I was involved with manufacturing my whole life, the last 25 years quite intimately. Our company had 90% of our production exported to the US. I was involved with seeing Chinese quotes for finished product just slightly above our raw material costs, and we were considered the most efficient in North America at what we did, including the US. Your companies lapped it up, and continue to do so. A 25% reduction in the dollar is probably not enough. Two years ago Chinese wages were about $0.30 per hour. This is from information supplied by a house hold name US customer. I remember having a meeting with our staff and demonstrating that we paid them more to have coffee breaks than the Chinese made in a day.
Your illegals are also not in dispute, but are a direct result of your current policy. Money was spent in Iraq rather than border protection, and recent commentary points to total acceptance of this influx by the administration, contrary to the wishes of some states. Turn off Fox for one evening and watch Lou Dobbs on CNN, he is passionate about this subject.
Fox news is the most partisan network in the US, and that my friend, is saying something. You think our media is inaccurate? Too funny.
That's about the last I have to say Bob. I, and the north, are not against the US, but I dare to say we probably support 48% of your people quite strongly, as do about 75% of the world. I wish you well, I wish the US well, let's leave it at that. |
