Yes, it is just absorbed easily into the skin and the affected joint like any other topical cream or ointment. The best thing is you are able to localize the effect to a specific area for pain relief rather than diluting it over your entire body by taking a pill and stressing your liver. It works great on me; I hope it does for you. too. Good Luck!
