I would wipe the slate clean. I would say that we made a mistake -- we should not have invaded unilaterally and we did not know what we were getting into. I would garrison our troops in Iraq. I would announce an orderly withdrawl. And I would invite the powers that be in the world to discuss the transition and timetable. Then I would see what alliances could be built from on ruins of the foreign policy we have now.
