Kenneth had made another stupid poorly thought out comment which only wasted time. If tax cuts are so great, why not eliminate all taxes? My reply pointing this out. As ro your post, you are closer to what needs to be rationally discussed, but must impose another point to come up with an answer. How much shall we grant the government to operate? Controls must be placed on government spending, and we must cut where possible. The question is what is an optimal tax rate and tax structure. Right now it is pretty obvious that the feds aren't collecting enough taxes. Should we tax labor or wealth? Have a flat tax or graduated tax. An income tax or a sales tax.
