The dream was of self-determination and statehood for the Palestinian people, and in the end he did not live to see it

The most galling thing is that even this line is such a crock. Yasser Arafat was offered statehood on a plate, more than once, and refused it - because he didn't want the kind of compromise state that would have allowed Israel to survive.
