I measure disk activity by whether the HD LED blinks or glows or something in between. I've not seen a steady glow on scan yet. But, the CPU is AMD 5x86 at 122 MHz with 40 Megs of RAM and the disk is a EIDE Caviar 3.1 GB.

Maybe the FIC PA 2007 w/ 1Meg Cache and K6 will suck faster.

A salesman said one of his regular customers has a 166 K6 running at 233 MHz. I've waited long enough... pulling trigger (while thinking SCSI. Now, where's that 7 year-old Adaptec card?)

Thanks, Sean
