If you could put Pentium II on socket 7 to run the benchmarks against the same clock speed of K6 and M2, Pentium II might be the slowest chip among the three MPUs.

Considering their resouces and R&D budget, Intel does have inferior x86 technology when comparing to Cyrix or AMD.
