Who cares if everyone has an assault rifle if you can't get ammo for them. The government can confiscate all ammo in the country in short order. And the powder being used now to make ammo has a short shelf life. So ammo already sold won't be good for long. It's a problem that can be contained. So the politicians can look pro gun all they want. And besides. That's what the ATF and FBI love best. Burning out any resistance. That's fun to them. And really. Of all the gun owners in America, who is really going to take up arms against the government? Very dam few.
