Holy crap! Jozef! I actually sent a letter to the White House right after the Iraq war started suggesting this very same thing. In that letter I recommended splitting the oil revenues 50/50 between the people and the government. This would ensure that the Iraqi people knew for a fact we were not their for the oil and it would ensure their prosperity. In addition, since they would own oil shares, they would automatically have a democratic say in what the government does with their oil revenues. It is a brilliant theory, if I don't say so myself. But unfortunately, this administration is not that creative. Not surprisingly, I never got a response from the White House. LOL. Too bad they never read letters.
