Gerry,

Je ne comprend pas. (I don't understand)

<When it becomes apparent to the general investing public that the risk to heretofore rock solid investments is dramatically increased, they will then start looking at y2k as a hedge to the stock market fall out. I myself was looking at investment prospects in utilities today. Having become educated about imbedded chips, I soon decided that this once staid investment was too risky for me to think about in any long term perspective(2-3 years or longer). JMO.>

Could you please repeat your post so that I can understand your point about embedded chips. (Sorry, but I just got back to Houston a few hours ago ... haven't unpacked ... and have a lot of catching up to do.)

Mucho gracias,

Cheryl

P.S. If anyone has really read and understood what I post on various threads ... and why .... I never look beyond 1-1/2 years ... I'm far more concerned about Y2K impact on society than I am on it's impact on the stock market.

I was going to be totally out of the market 4th quarter '97. But, I'll probably be selling only 50 percent of my portfolio by mid-October.

I'm already up 175-200% (it fluctuates) from February '97, so ... I don't need to be greedy. If I miss an opportunity down the road ... so be it.

From my perspective, best and safest trading opportunities are in the first half of the year. I'm not doing any trading now. And, I won't even mention what my major holding is ... because I might be accused of hype. Or, worse ... being a cult worshiper.
