No I was not in Romania about that time and even if I would have been, there would no chance I will hear about it.

I think that it makes a lot of sense that Arafat was under survilience and for sure they were fishing for issues which they could later use ot extort Arafat to remain in the communist camp. It was a tactic used as a routine with any outsider who had some type of political value.

I speculate that the Romanians have not released this information at least until the communist regime fall in 1989, and it could be it was released few years later to Israel and the CIA. By 1991 there were already discussion of some kind of treaty with the PA/PLO and it would it be only natural that no one wanted to come out with such disclosure more so after 1993 – the time the Oslo accords were signed.

In retro respect is was a mistake and the fall of Arafat due this disclosure would have saved thousand upon thousands of lives.

As to authenticy of the story there are many corroborating medical evidences recently from loss of weight, signs of prolonged “flu” symptoms and the mysterious blood disease with the low count and inability to reverse it.

Further it was an open secret that after returning to Gaza Suha was living upstairs and Arafat was sleeping downstairs. There were no more children after his daughter was born which is very untypical of an Arab family or more so for a faithful Muslim. Later Suha left well before Arafat moved to Ramalla. May be he wanted to make sure that at least his daughter will still have a mother?

I do not think Arafat was sick of a “rare blood disorder” and the fact that the medical records are kept so secret it only point to the direction that he died of Aids.

So after those facts you can judge by yourself if he died of aids or a "rare blood disorder" which is kept secret
