One of the Medtronic products is an implantable Neuro stimulator. It is a procedure of last resort when dealing with severe intractable pain. Like many devices it provides complete relief for some users, partial relief to others and to an unfortunate group it does not help at all. I had to investigate this on behalf of my wife but unfortunately she cannot have surgery to implant the Medtronics system. I did find a system manufactured by "REMEDI in the UK which does not require implantation. The company offers a full refund on their $300 device should it fail to reduce pain within 30 days.
In my wife;s case stenosis of the spine with degenerative disc disease is the cause but the little cheap gadget works and her pain is gone after two years of agony and m,any attempts to achieve thios goal. Try it -you may like it. Go to we site www.remediuk.com. Perhaps Remedi would be of onterest to Medtronics for acquisition.
