BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraqis trapped in Fallujah face a humanitarian disaster unless Iraqi and U.S. authorities allow food, water and medicine into the besieged city, aid agencies said Friday.
The head of the Iraqi Red Crescent Society, Fardous al-Ubaidi, said she asked for permission from the Iraqi government to deliver humanitarian supplies to Iraqi civilians in the city but the request was turned down.
“There is no water, no food, no medicine, no electricity and no fuel and when asked for a permission, we were only allowed to approach the Fallujah outskirts but had no access to Fallujah itself,” al-Ubaidi told The Associated Press."
How many innocents are still in Fallujah? Estimates say there are very few in relation to the estimates prior to the influx of terrorists. There were announcements via radio, television and even leaflets dropped into Fallujah prior to the siege. If innocents thought they should worry about food and water they should have left the city prior to the military action. Hell, some terrorists left before the actual siege.
What we will see within the next week is some “aid” organizations claim the U.S. and Iraqi armies are barring humanitarian aid into the besieged city of Fallujah. One aid organization plans on trying to get into the city on Monday. We will then see certain countries, and probably the UN, chastise the U.S. for not letting aid into the city.
As we have seen in other circumstances, if you feed the innocents, you feed the terrorists first and maybe the innocents get the left-overs. If there are innocents still alive in the city that the terrorists haven’t killed, they need to leave the city rather than expect aid to enter. The battle of Fallujah is expected to be over by the end of the weekend anyways. |
