You're missing that the guerillas in Vietnam had state sponsorship from China and the USSR, two superpowers willing to provide all the beans and bullets they needed plus the entire country of millions in NVA to get men and women to fight. Thats millions of fighters. In Iraq the Sunnis have about 10,000, thats its. Once they are dead or their beans and bullets run outs its game over.
