TP, Just wait, you will be talking fondly about the good-old-days of Junior's first term. The oil and interest rates are going to have effects that will no longer be hidden by a pending election. After 4 years even you will have to admit that the mess is all on Bush's watch.

Hey, I already mentioned that the next four years aren't going to be pretty no matter who won in November. Bush didn't do anything to reign in spending, and he'll pay for it unless he invests his political capital on controlled spending. Otherwise, he'll be betting his entire legacy on whether the economy can bounce back stronger and sooner than the pundits are predicting.

One thing is for sure, though. Bush's political opponents will become more and more foolish in their obstructionism and rhetoric. 2004 was perhaps the best chance the Democrats had in retaking the White House, and what happens? They nominate a nebulous flip-flopper.

Of course, that must be Rove's doing. Clever guy, that Rove.
