I don't think its possible for AMD to increase its market share by more than 10% per quarter, no matter how good its products are. So, to get to 50% market share, solve 0.16*1.1**x=0.5. The answer you get is 11.96 quarters, 3 years.

Increasing market share 2% in one quarter is about the best I ever saw AMD do during the coppermine fiasco and back then market share was around 20%. And nothing like that is going to happen 12 quarters in a row.
