Back when I used my real name a web search I did for family tree purposes turned up all kinds of religious and political posts I had made on SI. I thought this is not good at all. So I went to an alias. I have never been worried about anyone on SI wanting to find me. But I did worry about my employer, co-workers, and now the alphabet soup of government agencies spying on me.
