Patrick O'Brian is very good at what he does, but I am with you in being bored/intimidated/unstimulated by very technical manly stories. Unless Colin Firth and Hugh Grant are starring, of course. I like to cook to relax more than I enjoy watching tv. Tonight I made leek and potato soup and fresh pineapple upside down cake. All of the bellies at this house are full, and there is a general contentment in the air, which is filled with the sound of space music and cats purring at the moment . . . weird hour on the radio.
