Your perception of the situation is not correct. It is a painful subject, but you are the one hitting us with a hammer of your misplaced attempts at humor or wisdom.
If someone says to you "Trust me" its your responsibility
to determine what begets your decision to accept it as fact.
Absolutely. We (as in all of us who handed over money) were and are aware of this obvious fact. We trusted TLC. We were wrong. Our trust was misplaced.

No. If it had to do with pride, do you think we'd post about our misplaced trust train wreck in public? I don't think so. We'd STFU and nurse our injured pride in private. This is about the money and misplaced trust. It is about a lot of people being unaware of many others being solicited in private. It is about us being dead wrong about the trust we placed in someone we liked, respected, and even admired.
It will eat at you forever since it has a half life.
No. I've made my peace with the situation long ago. I am lucky enough to have been able to bounce back after flushing $30k. It is now distant past. It only starts to hurt again when someone like you uses a "humor" hammer on it. Ouch.
So, hopefully I've been clear enough. We know the errors were ours. This fact does not give anyone cause to treat what happened light heartedly. And none of this is humorous. It is a very sad story.
So please, give the subject the thoughtful consideration it deserves, or please leave it alone.
