Wishful Thinking Will Not a Merger Make

I'm bored so I'll take the bait and reply....

IBM has not grown a dime except in the services business lately right.... IBM has a sales force to sell the services ... right. Novell has a reseller model - Vars. They own the customer- they couldn't name the Novell rep. You can't sell services to Novell cutomers because you own Novell. If you want that you have to buy up all the Vars. They have the relationship. Novells has a relationship with Vars when it comes to selling. Got a prodcut that needs a channel - then you might buy Novell.

I WOULD SUE IF ANYONE BOUGHT NOVL - sue the purchaser and the seller it is irrational to sell and irrational to buy at this time.

Schmidt would also not keep any profits on the "Restricted Stock" (It was not granted under a shareholder approved plan) as I would sue him to to recoup the short term profits under Section 16(b) SEC. Me and my lawyer would get a nice fat check from Novell to go away...

A merger is a "Sale" and it would be within 6 months so once again the timing is not right for him either.

No Merger no matter what your emotions or anyone else tells you. This is fund positioning for next year and MOAB
