If you have a net worth of $800,000 Canadian or more, and are willing to invest $400,000 of it in Canada, come on in!
A few years ago when I was looking into retiring in Canada, not changing citizenship but just living there [I like the Pacific NW climate and scenery], I found them quite unwelcoming. I balked at putting up a bunch of money for the privilege of contributing to their economy on a daily basis. I was surprised at all the chatter about easy emigration that's been circulating lately. I found it not so easy.
