JFQ, The lizard story was more than just a tale. It was a study of how the lizards would adapt to the different environments, having come from the same stock. I'm sorry that I can't reference the source. I read it on a plane, and didn't write it down. Apparently 40 or so generations is enough time to show change just by weeding out the less efficient feeders.
