You are so impressively productive. All I can do with windows is open and close them.
Why thank you. Progress report -- I am just about finished installing 3 tall casement panels on the north side of our house. They'll afford a terrific view of the Big Dipper and the Aurora Borealis. Wish I had have had them finished a week or so ago when the aurora was really cooking. Oh well, there will be other nights.
I am feeling guilty this morning. Last night before the show the cast gave me a gift and a card filled with lovely sentiments-- like "Thanks for believing in us!" "Thanks for not giving up on us!" And I thought of the nasty things I've said here about the show.
Untrue. You compared them to caterpillars, and that's certainly not an insult -- after all, caterpillars turn into butterflies or moths. What could be nicer?
Christmas is looming. I am trying to think of gifts I can buy while away. Dan didn't like my idea of kilts for the boys.
Hmmmph! They would be quite stylish up here... you know, to wear to the Highland Games, or on Remembrance Day. Last week, I happened to pass by a few Remembrance Day ceremonies at cenotaphs in rural towns up my way. Lots of kilts in sight.. and the skirl of the bagpipes...
Did I ever mention that, when I was growing up in a small town, one of the neighbours used to come home every day for lunch, then change into his kilt and stand in the middle of his backyard playing the bagpipes for about 15 minutes before returning to work?
I am going to look for a cheap Irish tenor for my stocking.
Sounds like an excellent plan to me! (o:
Good luck with the windows, and see you around Thanksgiving. Oh- wait, you don't do that when we do. You are much wiser up there and do it in early Oct so it doesn't get all mixed up with CHristmas. Really the pressure is terrible here- a good reason to emigrate.
Yes, Thanksgiving has been over for awhile. I've always thought it a little odd that the U.S. Thanksgiving is so close to Christmas. Here, it's more of a harvest festival, I think.. and for that reason, works better with early October when the last of the harvest has been finished. You know how we are up here -- sensible folk wearing kilts and playing our bagpipes to the tune of the Squid Jigging Grounds.
