There is racism among the animal world. You need look no further than the squirrels that live in your mature trees, and in the forests around our homes. Two common varieties are red squirrels and black squirrels. In ranges frequented by both, little racism exists. In the western part of the range for black squirrels, red ones will not mingle or mate with the black ones.

I wish I was making this up.
