Phil Hunt, CEO of Amperion, stated, "Amperion is thrilled about this partnership because Telkonet's technology augments our existing BPL product line so perfectly. The combination of technology offers our customers greater deployment flexibility especially in the Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) and Multi-Tennant Unit (MTU) market. Telkonet's product line can turn each and every electrical outlet in the MDU/MTU into a portal for broadband service. Our technology then serves as backhaul by leveraging the medium voltage grid that already serves the building. We have already begun working with several of our existing customers to use Telkonet's solution for MDUs in their service footprint."

Telkonet's primary market includes apartment complexes, hotels and other commercial properties nation wide. Telkonet will have access to Amperion's customer base which includes 25 BPL networks deployed in 5 countries passing more than 20,000 households.

"Amperion's BPL technology utilizes the pervasive medium-voltage power line infrastructure which is in close proximity to our customer base. Amperion provides us with a ready customer base and an attractive backhaul alternative to DSL, cable or fixed wireless because it can be deployed quickly and cost effectively," said Ron Pickett, president and CEO of Telkonet. "With this combined approach to broadband Internet delivery, the residents of deployed communities will enjoy the mobility of a wireless service and the robust quality of a wired system delivered by Telkonet."
