I woke up this morning with a torrent of news on this subject. It was on all day long. Not sure if the USA news played on the subject so much, but they made a big deal of it here.

<<US investigates Falluja killing>>

news.bbc.co.uk

I am no admirer of the Iraq war, but to single out some soldiers who killed a wounded insurgent, insurgents who used white flags and suicide tatics to make attacks, and he suspected a badly wounded person "faking" something? so what if he shot him? Maybe those soldiers needed taking out of the front line for being over exposed to combat, but that seems to be a story with a long history. Lots of WW1 and WW2 examples to learn from.

I don't know what was worse for me, the incident or the medias reaction to it. The medias reaction made me want to spew for sure.

I suspect there are some incidents where a nutball insurgent had his life saved by a soldier who could have pulled the trigger any time. Maybe they should balance the news that way a little at times.
