All rights reserved dollar short positions in the futures markets ( or rather, long positions in non-dollar currencies ) are at or near historic extremes. so the bounces you see are in all likelihood the result of short covering. that said, the situation is still pregnant with potential , since everybody knows about these shorts and the dollar index has broken below pretty important support anyway ( there's even more important long term support nearby ) .
