Anyone following the Nuclear Solutions story will find it interesting that Mordechai Vanunu has been freed from prison.
"Israeli nuclear whistleblower Vanunu under house arrest AFP Published November 12, 2004
Jerusalem -- Mordechai Vanunu, who was freed in April after 18 years in an Israeli prison for revealing the country's nuclear ambitions, has been placed under house arrest after being detained on suspicion of giving secret information to foreigners, a judicial source said on Friday. The former Israeli nuclear technician, 50, was taken into custody at an east Jerusalem hotel on Thursday, where police seized documents found in his room, police said. The judicial source said he was released from custody in the evening and placed under house arrest for seven days at his east Jerusalem home. He has been banned from talking to the media and from announcing the exact nature of the charges against him. Police confiscated documents from his room and information from computers. Vanunu is suspected of having communicated "secret information to foreigners" and of having violated the restrictions imposed on him by Israeli security services after his release from prison, police said on Thursday. Since his release from prison on April 21, Vanunu has been subject to a series of sweeping restrictions, including a ban on traveling abroad as well as holding unauthorized meetings with foreigners. He was also banned from leaving Israel for at least a year. Vanunu was abducted by Israeli secret service agents in Italy, smuggled back to Israel and then jailed in 1986 after leaking top-secret details about the Dimona nuclear plant in the southern Negev desert to Britain's {italic}Sunday Times{/italic}. In July Israel's supreme court rejected an appeal filed by Vanunu, who sought the lifting of the restrictions, saying they were unfairly severe and prevented him from leading a normal life. The judges ruled that he remained "a real threat" to national security after they had submissions from the security services. Although banned from speaking to foreign journalists without prior authorization from the Israeli authorities, Vanunu has given interviews since his release in which he has denounced Israel's nuclear program. In April he was quoted in the London-based {italic}Al Hayatnewspaper as saying that the 40-year-old Dimona plant could constitute a "second Chernobyl" following a possible accident. But he insists that he has no more secrets to reveal. Vanunu has said that he wants to leave Israel, where he is widely reviled as a traitor after not only lifting the lid on the country's nuclear ambitions but also converting to Christianity. "I don't like Israel. I don't want to live in Israel. I want to be free and to leave Israel," he said in July. Israel has never admitted to having nuclear weapons, but is believed to possess an arsenal of about 200 warheads."

Here’s a bit of the rest of the story that involves Mordechai Vanunu, Dr. Paul Brown, and Tony Elgindy for any new people to this web site. You probably remember that Dr. Paul Brown was giving testimony against Tony Elgindy, in affidavit form, to the FBI when Dr. Brown was killed in a car accident. Dr. Brown’s death was convenient for Elgindy in the sense that Dr. Brown could not testify against Elgindy in the RICO trial that is presently happening.
"While Mordechai Vanunu awaits further reprisals, perhaps further punishments for what he continues to declare proudly his act of good conscience, a dynamic new company in the same country that does not want him but also does not want to allow him to leave, has acquired a contract to clean up some of the nuclear mess for which Vanunu has sacrificed almost 20 years of his life. This nuclear clean up does not begin in the Negev, but will take place in Chernobyl and is projected to be only the beginning of an enormous projected profit as well as long awaited remedy for that which Vanunu has been trying to get our attention and that which his government has denied exists yet alone has ever acknowledged as a radioactive problem. … Dr Brown and the team at Nuclear Solutions, seemed poised in leading the clean up of nuclear waste and yet the company was troubled financially and Dr Brown was under peersonal attack. Tragically on April 7, 2002 Dr Brown was dead at 47 from a car accident about which there still lurks the previous threats he had received over a period of time just prior to the accident. Dr Brown's death put an odd tilt to the company's plans for the future and the company took another spiral plunge down. The company AND Dr Brown appear to have been victims of criminal extortion and racketeering via the machinations of an Egyptian born financial analyst later charged in a nationwide stock swindle that involved FBI agents and FBI computers and who was also under suspicions for having made large amount of stock transactions just prior to 911. …"

The Eqyptian born financial analyst named in the above news piece is of course, Amr (Tony) Elgindy. In another news article, this time from the WSJ I found reference to Dr. Brown giving his testimony against Elgindy to the FBI to be used for the present RICO trial.
