I understand that some people are motivated by their belief system, and that there are lots of different beliefs. But did you know that in Ireland, the government is acting to get full rights for gay couples? The prime minister declared that it was the Christian thing to do. Today the Archbishop of Dublin endorsed the legislation. Doesn't that tell you that within the Christian community, there are many different beliefs? Do you think they are reading a different Bible, or that only your interpretation of the Bible could possibly be correct? Also, do you really actually believe, with whatever understanding of human nature that you have, that people really CHOOSE to be gay? Do you think that Mary Cheney just woke up one day and decided it would be really amusing with her father in politics--and very, very conservative politics at that--to go against nature and live the life of a sinner, to choose unhappiness? And if homosexuality is a sin, then why DID God create so many homosexual and bisexual animals? Do you support the idea that people should be able to defend their beliefs somewhat logically?
