You raise an interesting point.

parents planted here purposely so I'd have the cachet of being domestically born?

I believe that changes to the Constitution should be approached VERY, VERY cautiously. Once a constitutional convention is convened, there's no telling what idiotic idea will come up. Like prohibiting gay marriage, for example, since that seems to interest you.

The constitution is the place for very broad principles, not micro-management. I disagree with President Bush on his "marriage" amendment, not because I disagree with the principle but because I disagree with the venue. The constitution is not the place for it, in my opinion.

I love Ahnold as much as the next guy, but I'd rather see him firing missiles from a Harrier Jump Jet, preferably with the terrorist still attached to them (ala True Lies). Let's see how well he does as governor. Perhaps he will do well, as Reagan did. Time will tell. But he's not that far away from Terminator Three yet. (although sometimes that kind of thinking has its appeal, vis a vis Californios)
