J.C., one of my earliest memories is the day FDR died. I vaguely recall an aunt and the neighbor ladies sobbing in the street after the news came over the radio.

My aunt spent the next 30 years trying to convince me that FDR was a savior, replacing a guy that machine-gunned infants so he could serve them toasted on a stick to his evil friends.

FDR indeed instilled hope and confidence in the American people during excruciating times. That was a tremendous trait. Still, his economic policies were utterly wrong and stain our country to this day.
