Just a thought. Besides the fact all parties involved will be looking at all the contracts Amati has whether announced or not, they will also have to put a value on each contract's potential going forward. Having gone through a rather complicated divorce settlement involving residential housing projects in different stages of development, I know you don't just look at a contract as a static piece of paper.

How do you put a value on the Siemen's OEM agreement, for example? Or the NEC/HKT contract which involves a proposed number of lines out a few years? How would you evaluate the different trials and the potential business associated with each?

How about the patents? And the fact Amati holds the ANSI and ETSI standards? Is there a way to put a value on them here on the edge of an exploding market?

And at what point do they include GTE? Do you really think Amati began this exploration without knowing where they stood? If I were putting myself on the market, I'd certainly do it at the optimum moment. Heck, if I were their bankers, I'd insist on it.

Incidentally, I don't get the impression Amati put itself on the market. I think this is all a matter of doing due diligence in the process of deciding which route their financing will take.

Back to you --
