If the United Sates was the pig sty of racism and discrimination that you claim -- why is it that Japanese emigrated here in the first place?

If some Americans were so cruel to Japanese-Americans, isn't that all the more reason to suspect that the JA's might turn against their adopted country? And all the more reason to isolate them when war broke out?

Yes, Kimmell and Short designed their defenses with sabotage in mind (and were shortly after relieved of command). That does not prove racism, but just the opposite. It proves that the military genuinely feared that the J-A's would have torn loyalties. And undoubtedly many did, as that is human nature.
