F5 Networks Extends Its Worldwide Market Share Lead for the Layer 4-7

Ethernet Fixed Switch Market F5 experienced the highest market share growth in the Layer 4-7 fixed switch market, according to the latest Dell'Oro Group Report

SEATTLE--Nov. 18, 2004--F5 Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:FFIV), the global leader in Application Traffic Management, announced today that the Company remains the No. 1 worldwide market share leader for the Layer 4-7 (L4-7) Fixed Server Load Balancing(1) market, based on the latest Dell'Oro Group Report(2).

Capturing 33.8% market share, F5 realized the greatest market share and revenue increase quarter over quarter, in the fixed switch market. The Dell'Oro Group's results are based upon F5's calendar Q3 2004 revenue numbers, which reflect record results for the Company.

(1) Layer 4-7 Fixed Server Load Balancing (SLB) definition: Switches specially designed to switch network or Internet traffic optimally between a group of servers and must load balance traffic based on L4/L7 information (e.g. TCP port, URL, Cookie). Load balancing functionality must be native to the switch.
