LOL!!

Good stuff on this year's calls. As usual, you nailed things well. Not bad for a mouth-breathing ex "'rassler". (g) It still pains me that you are "constrained" from conducting what used to be the best thread on the net. That said, it is a delight that you can at least post up your "hints".

At this end, I am increasingly inclined to "up" the short side of the ledger and in fact have recently been adding small short positions on old favorite semi targets. As noted earlier, I carted a few (thankfully small), short positions through the year (and of course need a snorkel for having done so). Be that as it may, it is hard for me to believe that the sector won't get thumped hard post Christmas, based on parking lots bulging with tarp-covered chip and/or finished tech goods inventories that continue to grow ("Gluts" always bring my Vaderian genes to the fore).

I have more or less avoided the short-side most of this year as the generic short numbers have been huge. As you know better than I, this usually attracts short squeezing activity and I have donated far too much of my tender flesh to such feeding frenzies in the past. That said, the increasingly worrisome US economic environment sure does make one ache for the comfort of larger short positions.

Gold stocks and some god-fathered "juniors" that suddenly (finally) grew up, sweetened this year's bottom line, so I am trying to hold off a tiny bit longer before filling any short side dump trucks. No doubt I will miss some good opportunities, but since most tech sector stocks have such a long way to fall before any kind of decent valuations can impede gravity's pull, I will try to wait until some downside momentum becomes apparent. "Patience" is not my forte but it sure kept me away from the blood-letting this year. (g)

Best, Earlie
