Good article in National Review dead tree last summer about the anti-conservative segregation of the political cartoonists by the MSM. The REAL talent-as it has usually been post WWII-is in the conservative cartoonists (First and foremost, of course, was Al Cap in the 50's and 60's.)

Pat Oliphant didn't fail at his profession this year-it's been a permanent state for him since he started. Too much hate ruins any cartoonist, who's task is to LAUGH at his enemy. And too much hate for AMERICA cannot be hidden in any sketch. Oliphant is one of the very FEW political cartoonists about whom I can say I have NEVER seen a redeeming frame. Not a SINGLE one, over decades.

WESTI still links some of the best today, from Jewish World Review. I am waiting for a mainstream paper to pick one of the real talents among the conservatives. Perhaps the WP, now that they have finally swept the mediocre Ted Rall out with the trash, will take the chance. The next McNelley is already HERE, boys...
