Norton firewall (or Anti-virus or Internet Security) doesn't block pop-ups, Dave. Hope you didn't click on that one, BTW. It detected nothing but a potential sucker. No offense. ;-)

What you need to do is install a pop-up blocker. There's a free "Google Toolbar" plug-in for IE that includes a pop-up blocker (go to Google - sorry, don't have a precise link) and you can also get a free version of Panicware's "Pop-up Stopper" at www.panicware.com. The only drawback to Panicware's product is that you have to hold down the Ctrl key to open new browser windows (after the first), but you get used to that quickly enough.
