The illogic in the chinese position is that their economic boom will be destroyed by a nuclear boom.

Not really.

The only markets that would be affected are in the Middle East. Not that big a deal.

When you compare the relatively piddling cost of providing nuclear weapon designs and material to the Iranians with the benefit of securing friendship with a country awash in oil that China needs, the reasons for the Chinese actions become clear.
