kerry and elite friends try to hide their racism.

Blacks in Kerry's campaign, except for Jessie Jackson, who made a late arrival, were conspicuous by their absence.

Kerry had their votes in the bag, so there was no need to do anything, not even something symbolic.

Edit: Well, Sharpton, that huckster, did deliver a speech for Kerry at the Convention, but was absent from his campaign otherwise.
