a note on influenza and related illnesses

from 1970's to 2002 probably no more than 4-5 flu episodes for me
been a healthy bastard, fortunately

no illnesses all through difficult 1999, 2000 years
brief flu in 2001 lasted only 2-3 days
nothing in 2002
then in Feb 2003, a nasty flu with bronchial and respiratory symptoms
it lasted 10-12 days
I had been active as swimmer and runner year-round
strong as hell heart & lung systems

this summer 2004, the worst summer flu of my entire life
same nasty symptoms involving bronchials and respiratory
it lasted 6-8 days
but this time, the bronchial scum crapp lingered
despite strong and active, a lingering cough, nothing serious

first time I swam three weeks later, the minor flu returned
ok in 2-3 days
cool water surely had an effect

next time I swam a month later, the minor flu returned
ok in 5-6 days
still got the lingered bronchial crapp cough
again cool water effect, didnt expect repeated occurrence

my conclusion:
SARS HAS MUTATED INTO LESS VIRULENT FORM
IT CIRCLES THE GLOBE (just coughed now)
SARS HAS WEAKENED, BUT NOT GONE AWAY
taking antibiotics just for good measure, and having chicken soup

wondering in my deeper recesses, whether some sort of viruses have been unleashed into the atmosphere

I have never been less healthy in my adult life
