It's the same reason NOW said nary a word when Bill Clinton made his public denials of a liasion with Monica:
I did not have sex with that woman.

As a woman, and a lawyer who has both prosecuted and
defended sexual harassment cases, I was really struck by that comment and the way it was delivered.

I immediately concluded two things:
1. He was lying.
2. He had very bad legal advice.

That NOW was so quiet during that entire debacle was telling.

Now, Monica was obviously not black, but the whole affair
struck me as a slap in the face to women.

NOW's silence was deafening and defining.

The jabs at Rice are of the same ilk.
The icing on the cake for the left is that she
is also black.

The underlying message is that women don't get anywhere
at the higher echelons unless they play along.

It disgusts me.

And that transcends the racial angle which, as I say,
is merely another level but not the true issue.
