Tom Delay runs some kind of scam that really turns me off big time. I think I've mentioned it before. He's got some organization that calls up Republican business people and tells them that they've been made Business Person of the Year and will get various honors and can they kick in a few hundred bucks to help defray the expenses?

I had read about it but didn't really believe it until I got the call. I played along with them just to see what would happen, and am from time to time inundated by faxes, mail, and email, repeating the same pitch.

I just ignore them now. But I am quietly outraged. I am a solo practitioner, no big shot. Some years I make money, some years I don't make so much money. I am small potatoes, which is fine by me. So I know that nobody out there in the real world actually nominated me for Business Person of the Year, and certainly not umpteen times. I'm just on some list somewhere of Republican business people who have donated to the party or some candidate.

I did a google check, and some people actually not only fall for this, but advertise it themselves on their websites. Eeeek.

Anyway, I can't stand the man.
