Hi Neocon; Back in April, during the last spike in the Iraq war, you wrote:
Neocon, April 19, 2004 I am afraid I do not see any clear trend, either way. I was guessing, and I was wrong. But the spike in fatalities is associated with a new campaign to settle with insurgents, which may or may not work, but, if it works, will lead to an improved security situation. Thus, it is a mistake to deem it a trend, when it is a unique crisis point, like a spiked fever which may well signal the turning point of an infection. #reply-20038627
This was in reply to my comment #reply-19973172.
Now here it is 20 days into November, and we've already lost 104 soldiers. That's a rate slightly worse than the April figure of 4.67 per day.
What's your next plan? Keep on marching into the big muddy?
I'd like to know how many of our troops have to die before you give up on this. As an attractive alternative, I suggest that you blame the Democrats for not having the stomach to continue the war.

P.S.
Bilow, June 8, 2003 We could get the butcher bill up to "thousands of American troops", but it would require us stick around long after it becomes obvious that it is a lost cause. Right now we're losing about one a day or so. That will triple well before the end of the year. At that rate, we get to the thousand level sometime next year. Right when Bush is running for reelection. #reply-19012803 |
